Yuki & OCHADOZO
Yuki Futami, founder of OCHADOZO (a Japanese word which means “please have some tea”), has been practicing the Japanese way of tea (Chado) in Hong Kong since 2009 and is certified by the Nihoncha Instructor Association (Tokyo, Japan) as a Nihoncha instructor and as Japanese Tea Ambassador in Hong Kong.
Yuki is fascinated by the way different factors influence the taste and aroma of teas. She is also inspired by the passion and dedication of tea producers, artisans, and professionals who work tirelessly to create special teas and tools. Through OCHADOZO, Yuki wishes to introduce Japanese tea related cultural experiences and products to our guests.
When we sit together in a tea setting, we naturally start to talk about many things. For example, a question about whisking movement may start off a topic about posture, leading to breathing, Taichi, meditation, etc. Seeing how our tea conversations evolve is always fun and inspiring. We hope our guests enjoy such conversations as much as we do. It is our sincere hope that through what we do, more people become interested in Japanese tea and the culture around it.
